Antique, a province in the Western Visayas Region, got its name from the big ants in the province called lantik-lantik. This province is the home of Tibiao River, a grade 3 river according to the International Scale of River Difficulty, which is a great destination for an eco-adventure.

It is the haven for kayakers and rafters. The river has long rapids with high waves and a lot of irregular rocks. Scouting is mandatory. And this river requires powerful and precise maneuvering, expert boatman, and good quality boat and equipments.

And with the width of the river, it is recommendable to have a smaller boat. By land from Caticlan, Aklan — Tibiao is about a hour drive from Caticlan. At the Caticlan terminal, buses and vans plying the Iloilo route via San Jose can take you directly to Tibiao, Antique.

There are various places to stay in Antique where you can spend the night. Centillion House , for one, has 16 rooms and the rooms can go for as low as P a night with breakfast.
