I wandered the land of the laser mice for about 6 years before a friend who loved the mx told me about the Gs.

Which is a similar body shape to the mx, with a texture of the blue generation G5. It retains that amazing optical sensor.

If you haven't tried yet OP talk to Logitech, the mouse is out of warrenty but they have the best customer service ever imho. They may send you another replacement pad, or hell another mx They've done it before for stuff I had 5 years out of warrenty.
